Marc Speir is editor of RCR Wireless Austin, bringing a local face to the mobile and technology world not only of the Hill Country, but also of Texas as a whole. He is a multimedia journalist, constantly armed with both a pen and pad along with a film camera. Marc started with RCR Wireless News at the beginning of 2011 and has quickly immersed himself in the wireless industry by covering shows and tour stops in Dallas, Philadelphia, Hershey, Atlanta, Barcelona (MWC), Oklahoma City, Orlando (CTIA) and Haiti.
He previously worked in higher education within the offices of media relations at both the University of Texas at Austin and at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Marc has written freelance articles for dozens of publications both domestically and internationally and has also worked extensively in film production, shooting everything from feature films and documentaries to commercials and news packages.
Marc holds a bachelor’s in government-public administration with a certificate in business administration from UT-Austin and a master’s in journalism and mass communication with a concentration in new media technology from Texas State University.
