SANTA CLARA, Calif.-Nortel Networks Ltd. unveiled what it describes as a comprehensive vision for enterprise mobility focusing on wireless local area networks. The company said its vision will work in concert with Trapeze Networks technology.
Nortel’s new WLAN 23000 Series will be the solutions for its enterprise offerings for voice, data and multimedia applications.
“Professionals expect to connect in a reliable and secure manner regardless of whether they are using a cell phone, a PDA, WLAN, or an IP Phone,” said Aaron Vance, senior analyst at Synergy Group. “Nortel has a deep bench strength in wireless, and this new relationship will help customers simplify management and lower overall costs.”
Nortel also said its board of directors has declared dividends for two Class A preferred shares Series 5 and 7. They are payable May 12.
