CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom-Digital wireless company TTPCom this week made available technology enabling TV reception on next-generation mobile phones.
TTPCom unveiled a DVB-H (digital video broadcast for handhelds) demodulator/decoder technology designed to allow semiconductor vendors to deploy high-performance video broadcast services quickly and cost effectively. The offering builds on a DVB-television product that has been licensed by semiconductor companies and is used in commercial digital set-top boxes.
Paul Hanlon, TTPCom’s DVB-H product manager, said the agreement “opens up huge new opportunities for the industry from operators and broadcasters” looking to generate revenues from mobile video.
