Global Joe highlights the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution as it comes to Indonesia by way of a partnership between U.S. firm Jaspar Technologies and Telkomsel.
The companies are working together on a cloud-based platform that supports IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) functionality.
Jaspar is also considering an initial public offering that could raise up to $150 million for the venture capital-backed California company, according to reports.
Some industry experts peg the value of Jaspar at an impressive $1 billion.
Another potential partnership is in the works in Asia, as AirMedia Group is going in with a China Telecom subsidiary to bring more robust Wi-Fi connectivity options to airline passengers.
The China Telecom division uses satellites to provide Internet access to mountainous or otherwise remote areas.
AirMedia is already a leader in China’s air travel advertising sector.
