MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-NEC Corp. has decided to embed the products of software player TimesTen to quicken Internet traffic for applications such as packetized voice and video, as well as new services such as on-line gaming over third-generation mobile packet networks.
The products, known as TimesTen DataServer, will work on NEC’s platform, which comprise SGSN and GGSN packet nodes and run on an Intel-based system and a carrier-grade Linux operating system.
