LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.-Motorola Inc. announced an agreement with Qualcomm Inc. that calls for it to offer its VIAMOTO location-based services solution via the BREW distribution system.
According to the agreement, Motorola will be able to develop and publish applications and extensions for CDMA operators using BREW. Motorola will provide BREW LBS extensions that will allow software developers to add VIAMOTO turn-by-turn direction functionality to other BREW applications, such as fleet management, customer relationship management applications and location-based games.
The VIAMOTO system allows a wireless device to function as a portable navigation system.<p
