SEOUL, South Korea-Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. announced plans to launch the SPH-V5400, a mobile phone that includes a tiny hard disc drive to expand available memory capacity.
Samsung said the 1-inch hard disc drive expands memory capacity in mobile phones from 100 megabytes to 1.5 gigabytes.
The phone includes a 1-megapixel camera, a 2.2-inch high-resolution display, camcorder functionality, dual speakers, an MP3 player, an electronic book and Korean-English/English-Korean dictionaries.
The phone will be available to Korean consumers in mid-September for an undisclosed price.
