BELMONT, Calif.-PacketHop Inc. and Xybernaut Corp. said they have partnered to combine wireless broadband communication technologies with wearable mobile computing technology to meet the needs of first responders and homeland security personnel.
For the companies’ integrated solution, PacketHop’s software is loaded onto radio-equipped computers, including laptops, personal digital assistants, tablets, wearable computers and smart Web devices, creating a mobile mesh network that requires no fixed infrastructure.
“The key element of our joint solution is the ability to provide critical information when and where it is needed in the field,” said Steven Newman, president and chief executive officer of Xybernaut.
