Fox Mobile chief quits

Lucy Hood has stepped down as CEO of Jamba and president of Fox Mobile Entertainment after 10 years with News Corp.
“It’s been extremely exciting and rewarding for me to help build News Corporation’s mobile business over the past few years,” Hood said, “but I’m eager to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures and I’m looking forward to the next opportunity.”
Hood helped launch Fox Mobile in 2005 and is credited with leading the highly successful text-voting campaign from “American Idol.” The high-profile executive also helmed Fox when it developed made-for-mobile episodes of “Prison Break”-which was sponsored by Toyota-and “24.”
But her latest role was short-lived: Hood was charged with overseeing the joint venture Fox formed one year ago with VeriSign Inc. after Fox spent $188 million for a controlling stake in VeriSign’s Jamba business. Critics have suggested Fox has been slow to capitalize on the tie-up, failing to quickly integrate Jamba’s distribution channels with valuable content from franchises such as “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy.”
Jamba COO Lee Fenton will assume Hood’s duties while the company searches for a replacement.
