Venture capital financing wrap-up: Myxer, Optasite, Sipera and more

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.

–Myxer: Harris Preston & Partners led a $6.5 million equity financing into Myxer. Also participating were Morganthau Venture Partners and New World Angels. Proceeds will be used to enhance its mobile content delivery platform and to increase its marketing and advertising sales efforts.
–Optasite: Tower site owner Optasite Inc. said it closed $85 million in new financing, including a Series D round of equity led by Citi and a $50 million subordinated debt facility from Morgan Stanley. Columbia Capital also participated in the Series D financing round. Optasite said it plans to use the funding to continue growth of its tower portfolio through acquisition and development.
–Sipera: Duchossois Technology Partners led a $10 million Series C funding round into Sipera Systems, which provides VoIP/UC security solutions. Existing investors Austin Ventures, Sequoia Capital and STAR Ventures also participated in the funding round. The company said it has raised a total of $29.5 million. It said it will use the funds in part to expand sales and support functions in new regions.
–Zilker: Sevin Rosen Funds, North Bridge Venture Partners and H.I.G. Ventures invested $10 million into Zilker Labs Inc. during the company’s fourth round of venture funding. Zilker said it will use the financing to expand its sales staff to support increasing worldwide customer use of its Digital-DC power conversion IC products.
