Wireless users will soon have several new gadgets to play with, as Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile USA Inc. and others announced the release of new devices.
First up is Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s new SCH-a650 for Verizon Wireless. The device features support for text messaging and Verizon’s BREW application download service and will sell for $80 with a two-year service agreement.
Separately, Verizon Wireless said it is now offering the Samsung a790 world phone to its enterprise customers. The device features support for both CDMA and GSM networks. Verizon did not provide pricing details, nor would the carrier say when the phone would be available to the general public.
For T-Mobile, the carrier is now selling two new handsets, including an updated version of Nokia Corp.’s Symbian-based smart phone. T-Mobile is selling the color screen Nokia 6010 free with rebates and the Symbian-based Nokia 3660 for $150 with rebates. The 3660 is similar to the Nokia 3650, but with a redesigned keypad.
