NEW YORK-Internet company Maxplanet Corp. announced it will acquire wireless Internet design firm Wireless Ink L.L.C. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition will provide new life to Maxplanet and enable shareholders to be part of the wireless portal boom the same way Maxplanet experienced in the ’90s with the Maxplanet Internet portal,” said Ike Sutton, the company’s interim chief executive officer. “We hope this acquisition would enable our share price to regain the valuation we once had.”
Maxplanet operates Internet sites including Maxplanet.com, Mxnt.com and others. Wireless Ink provides private-label mobile Web site authoring and hosting solutions and currently hosts more than 4,000 mobile Web sites.
