LONGMONT, Colo.-Intrado Inc. reported contracts to provide Emergency 911 Phase I and Phase II services to eight rural Texas wireless operators serving more than 100,000 subscribers. The carriers include Cellular One of Amarillo, Five Star Wireless, Peoples Wireless, Plateau Wireless, Poka Lambro Telecommunications, Wes-Tex Telecom, West Central Wireless and XIT Cellular.
Intrado noted the carriers purchased a combination of hosted Phase I and Phase II services, and in some cases, position determination equipment services.
In a separate announcement, Andrew Corp. reported that Centennial Puerto Rico Operations Corp. signed an agreement to purchase Andrew’s Geometric E911 wireless caller location systems for the carrier’s CDMA-based network.
