ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless said it plans to launch next month a new service that allows customers to manage their personal account information.
Called *Services, the new service lets customers dial a “star code” and have a report of their current account balance and remaining minutes delivered to their handset via short message. Customers also can enter a star code to make payments using interactive voice response.
*Services will be offered free to all postpaid subscribers. The company is wrapping up a trial of the service in Atlanta and Texas and plans to launch the service nationwide April 1.
