SANTA CLARA, Calif.-NeoMagic Corp. and M-Systems said TCL Corp. is using NeoMagic’s MiMagic applications processors with M-Systems’ Mobile DiskOnChip to power its Windows Mobile-based smart phones.
TCL will begin shipping its first smart phone, called OC01, this summer. The MiMagic 5 enables OC01 to provide multimedia functionality such as video, still pictures and games at low power. Mobile DiskOnChip provides it with high-performance NAND flash storage capacity for multimedia content.
In other news, NeoMagic announced that the Mobile Broadcast Co., a dedicated satellite broadcasting service provider for mobile devices, will use the MiMagic 6 to process the multimedia stream broadcast from the MBCO satellite.
