SAN FRANCISCO-Motorola will use location-based services software supplier Telcontar’s Rich Map Engine platform for routing, map management and address lookup to enhance its VIAMOTO solution, and to supply routing engine technology for Trafficmaster’s Smartnav.
“Together, our technologies are transforming the cell phone into a very effective information appliance that we expect will see wide acceptance for traveler information, enterprise resource management and general consumer applications,” said Eric Carlson, president and chief executive officer of Telcontar.
Telcontar also announced the release of Traffic Manager 2.0, which allows location-based services providers to integrate real-time traffic flow and incident information with existing applications.
