OTTAWA, Canada-Atsana Semiconductor Corp. and RF Micro Devices Inc. respectively introduced a media processor and transmit module for mobile handsets.
Atsana’s product, the J211, is for embedded applications such as multimedia ones.
RF Micro Devices transmit module is called the RF3177. It covers quad-band GSM/GPRS cellular handsets and “contains all of the transmitter functions from the power amplifier to the antenna of the handset,” said the company.
“Atsana’s media processor delivers media-rich applications such as video camcorder, Megapixel digital still camera, video conferencing/streaming, and 2D/3D gaming and provides interfaces to control display and camera functions,” said the chip maker.
