Young adults are leading the trend of cutting the wireline cord, according to a study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 25 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 24 and 29 percent of those aged 25 to 29 said they only have a cellphone, said the study. In addition, the study found that the number of adults who only had a cellphone grew by more than 2 percentage points in the second half of last year to about 12 percent.
The study also found Hispanic adults had the highest rate cellphone-only ownership and slightly more men than woman own only cellphones.
