NAPERVILLE, Ill.-Telecommunications equipment company Tellabs Inc. has named Krish Prabhu president and chief executive officer, succeeding co-founder Michael Birck.
Prabhu most recently served as partner at Morgenthaler Ventures, a Cleveland-based venture-capital firm that invests in communications and technology firms. He previously held various roles with Alcatel, including chief operating officer of Alcatel Telecom and chief executive of Alcatel USA.
Birck will continue with Tellabs as chairman, a position he has held since 1975.
