Flycell Inc. is targeting 14- to 25-year-olds with revamped wireless and computer Web sites hawking ringtones, games, on-demand video and other mobile goodies.
The New York-based subsidiary of Italy’s Acotel Group added several community-based offerings to its portal, including a dating/chat service, a blog about mobile content, and gifting and recommendation features. The company also announced plans to create a “full-blown mobile and online community” with free services including social networking and user-generated content offerings.
Users can purchase content a la carte or with a $10 monthly subscription.
“Flycell has established itself as a premier mobile entertainment company over the past two-plus years, building a strong customer base and growing our sales to over $45 million,” said Flycell CEO Alberto Montesi. “We are now taking the company to the next level, applying the expertise we developed in the complex mobile industry to provide an optimal, integrated, digital entertainment experience for our Generation Y audience to enjoy across all new media platforms.”
