Alltel Corp. has broadened the price range of its Smart Choice plans for individual and family smartphone users, which combine the carrier’s mycircle calling offer with unlimited messaging, data access and mobile-to-mobile calling, as well as off-peak calling starting at 7 p.m.
The company has added two $190-per-month plans-one for individuals and one for families-which include 5,500 anytime minutes. Previously, both types of plans topped out at $140 per month for 2,000 anytime minutes.
Alltel also lowered the entry point for the Smart Choice family plans, adding a $70 per month, 500-minute plan that includes unlimited data and mobile-to-mobile but not the unlimited messaging and early off-peak calling options. Those features kick in at the $90 per month level, which encompasses both 500 anytime minutes and all of the regular Smart Choice options.
