LA JOLLA, Calif.-Wireless data technology vendor M7 Networks Inc. said it scored $3 million in series C venture funding, with Enterprise Partners Venture Capital leading the round.
“We firmly believe that 2004 is going to be a breakout year in the U.S. for wireless data services,” said William Erickson, M7’s president and chief executive officer. “M7, with the support of its investors, partners and customers, has taken a leadership role in providing enhanced data services linking wireless carriers, technology providers and the content community. This additional capital will accelerate expansion of our current services, as well as support our investment in future solutions, which our customers are demanding.”
M7 sells technology to link wireless carriers, technology providers and the content community. The company recently scored a major deal with Sprint PCS to develop and manage the carrier’s new Game Lobby offering, a nationwide virtual mobile community for gamers to meet, rate and review games and to challenge each other.
