Pay-as-you-go mobile virtual network operator XE Mobile added big-box retailer CompUSA as a new outlet for the MVNO’s handsets and airtime cards.
“We expect XE Mobile’s products to appeal to our younger customers who want simple, cost-effective mobile communications solutions,” said Gabriela Villalobos, executive vice president of sales and operations for CompUSA.
“We will continue to be aggressive in expanding our distribution channels to reach prospective members,” said Mark Ghermezian, president and CEO of XE Mobile. “Our retailer partners played a key role in the success of our business in 2006, and will continue to do so in 2007 as we enter new locations and launch new handsets.”
XE Mobile offers calling rates starting at 10 cents per minute with up to 250 free incoming minutes each month and unlimited incoming text messages. The MVNO also includes an XE Club Card with each handset purchase, which allows a user to receive discounts at retail locations and online, including FYE Music Stores, ArmaniExchange.com, Target.com, Urban Outfitters, Foot Locker and Barnes & Noble book stores.
