Huawei believes this cooperation agreement will offer enhanced smart city solutions
Chinese ICT services provider Huawei and French company Veolia recently signed an agreement to collaborate on smart city initiatives.
Under the terms of the deal, the two companies will work together to improve the quality of service in relation to the internet of things, opening up new prospects for smart city plans.
Veolia delivers services to cities including water management, waste collection and recycling, and energy services, and recently added to its portfolio two products to address the smart city market: Urban Pulse for citizens and Urban Board for mayors.
This cooperation will allow both Huawei and Voelia to design enhanced services managed by Veolia and his ecosystem, and boosted by the technology developed by Huawei.
Huawei claims its safe city solutions have been deployed in more than 100 cities across 30 countries.

Reliance Communications ends June with almost 100 million voice subscribers
In other APAC news, Indian telecoms operator Reliance Communications (RCOM) recorded consolidated revenue of INR 53.61 billion ($799.7 million) for the three months ended 30 June 2016, down 3.8% compared to the year-ago period. EBITDA for the period totaled INR 15.601 billion, down 17.7% year-on-year.
The operator ended June with a total of 99.9 million voice customers, down from 111.1 million a year earlier. The telco also reported a data user base of 38.9 million, of which 25.4 million were 3G or 4G customers, up from 35.4 million and 17.9 million respectively in June 2015.
Reliance Communications said its consolidation of the wireless business of Russian-owned Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL/MTS India) is currently awaiting the approval from the High Court and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
Earlier this week, Reliance Communications announced it had reached an agreement with Maxis Communications Berhard (MCB), the parent company of Indian mobile firm Aircel, to merge their respective mobile businesses.
