Arrow Electronics partners with IBM to grow IoT business in APAC

The firm has integrated IBM’s Watson IoT platform and IBM Cloud services into its service offering

Arrow Electronics has integrated IBM’s Watson internet of things (IoT) platform and IBM Cloud services into Arrow’s ideation-to-production services. With this new offering, Arrow’s customers in Asia Pacific will have access to an expanded spectrum of IoT ecosystem offerings.

Arrow now offers customers in Asia Pacific the IBM Watson IoT platform via IBM Cloud, giving them access to more than 160 cloud services to incorporate ready-to-use capabilities, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Blockchain, advanced data analytics and cyber security.

CASCADEMIC Solutions is an industrial IoT solutions provider specializing in turnkey IoT solutions that will benefit from Arrow and IBM’s joint offerings. “With IBM’s Watson IoT platform and Arrow’s ideation-to-production services, we are in a strong position to empower our customers and partners to develop smart city applications with integrated IoT solutions that will help significantly reduce development costs and time-to-market,” said Abdullah Khan, president of CASCADEMIC. “We are committed to constantly improving our business offerings so that we can stay ahead of the growing IoT wave.”

Telefonica selects OT-Morpho to boost global IoT offering

In other IoT news, Spanish telecoms operator Telefonica has selected OT-Morpho’s subscription manager to leverage its global IoT offering.

This partnership between OT-Morpho and Telefónica is a global agreement, with the service available to all Telefónica operators worldwide with a single platform hosted in OT-Morpho premises.

Through this partnership, OT-Morpho is providing Telefónica with the M2M subscription manager platform GSMA M2M rev. 3.1. The interoperable solution will allow Telefónica to manage subscriptions remotely to connected objects at any time and any location, hence fully leveraging Telefónica’s current IoT solutions offering. The service that will first be launched in Spain, will be integrated with Telefónica’s current IoT infrastructure.
