COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Xivo Wireless Inc. said it will change its name to a similar but slightly different moniker-Xovix Inc. The company said the change coincides with the establishment of the Xovix brand, which incorporates the history of the company’s management team at Intel, Xircom and VoiceStream, and its inception at Omnipoint.
“Since its inception as Omnipoint, the core team at Xovix has maintained a proven track record of developing pioneering technology and breakthrough products. During recent acquisitions and divestitures, this talented group’s ongoing efforts lost some industry visibility,” said Taizoon Doctor, Xovix’s chief executive officer. “As an independent company we intend to continue our tradition of solving tough engineering problems while establishing strong brand recognition under the new Xovix name.”
Xovix offers wireless engineering services and has provided the embedded modules in T-Mobile USA Inc.’s Sidekick device.
