ATLANTA-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. named Ralph de la Vega, current BellSouth Corp. president of Latin America operations, its chief operating officer effective Jan. 1, 2004, where he will be responsible for overall operations of the company, including technology planning, network operations, marketing, sales operational support and customer care.
“Ralph’s fresh experience and success with BellSouth’s wireless operations in Latin America will serve us well as competition in our domestic markets continues to escalate,” said Stan Sigman, president and chief executive officer of Cingular.
Current Cingular COO Mark Feidler is returning to BellSouth as chief staff officer where he will report to company chairman and CEO Duane Ackerman and be responsible for planning and development, corporate compliance, advertising, public relations, human resources and diversity initiatives.
