HONG KONG—Altai Technologies Ltd. snapped up $10 million during its first round of financing and said it plans to use the funds to expand its engineering, sales and marketing efforts to fuel its growth within the citywide Wi-Fi ecosystem.
Altai’s flagship product is its A8 Wi-Fi base station, which the company says provides a coverage area 10 times larger than that of other vendors’ products. The company also sells a picocell product for filling in coverage network holes as well as expanding a network’s capacity, and a wireless bridge product that Altai said supports wireless backhaul deployment.
In addition, Altai offers a Wi-Fi management system that provides provisioning, operations and maintenance functions for networks.
Technology investors Morningside Technologies and Wong’s International Holdings led the round.
