eAgency Mobile Solutions announced the availability of Application and Browser blocking, which is a new feature of its My Mobile Watchdog child safety device. The blocking service is a free and automatic enhancement for new and existing customers and allows parents to control their child’s use of applications and Web sites from their wireless device. The service addresses social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter as well as instant messaging applications.
American Tower Corp. (AMT) launched operations in Chile via its ATC Sitios de Chile SA subsidiary following a recent agreement to acquire 287 towers from Telefonica Chile SA.
Numerex Corp. said it expanded its telematics service offerings to include dynamic reporting and analysis based on real-time driving data. This service will allow for driver behavior-based applications, said Numerex.

Amkor Technology Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. said they have begun production of fine pitch copper pillar flip chip packages. The new packaging platform reduces semiconductor chip size and cost, and boosts performance. The companies said it is ideal for wireless and embedded processing applications based on plated copper pillar bumping and assembly technology.
Millicom International Cellular S.A. (MICC) said it has reached an agreement with its local partner in Honduras to give Millicom full control of Celtel, its Honduran subsidiary. Celtel will now be fully consolidated into the Millicom Group financial statements starting with third-quarter 2010.
