Android’s legal troubles aren’t slowing down production of a bevy of new Android LTE tablets and smartphones set to hit the market.
Japan’s NTT DOCOMO is leading the charge with a robust slate of LTE devices on tap. This fall the Japanese carrier will introduce to Optimus G L-01E, an LG smartphone that is the first LTE device to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. Each core of the 1.5 GHz chipset can power up and down independently, an effort to maximize performance per minute of battery life. The Optimus G also includes some other notable technology that should appeal to consumers, including video zoom, screen sharing with the TV, and voice-activated photography.
NTT DOCOMO announced two other Android 4.0 smartphones and tablets today, all compatible with its LTE network. The smartphones include a new Aquos model (made by Sharp Electronics) and a new Huawei Ascend LTE phone. All are equipped for Wi-Fi tethering of at least 5 devices, and all can broadcast digital TV signals using Japan’s one-seg terrestrial digital broadcasting.
The tablets include an NEC MEDIAS tablet and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.7. Both tablets feature 800 by 1,280 pixel resolution, enabling them to display more than 16 million colors.
