BETHESDA, Md.—Broadband wireless carrier MobilePro Corp. announced plans to acquire Clearwave Communications L.L.C., a competitive local exchange carrier that provides service in southern Illinois.
The companies did not release terms of the agreement. The deal, which has not yet been completed, is subject to regulatory approval.
“The proposed transaction with Clearwave further complements the existing retail and commercial CLEC divisions of MobilePro,” said Jerry Sullivan, president and chief operating officer of MobilePro. “In addition to growing the MobilePro customer base and giving us the ability to offer our existing product lines to these customers, the transaction brings to the company a skilled senior management team.”
