NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Asurion Corp., which provides handset insurance and warranty management, said it has completed its acquisition of mobile software developer Lumitrend Corp.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lumitrend’s offerings include CellBackup, a service sold by more than 20 carriers worldwide that automatically protects contacts and other content on wireless phones. Asurion said it will integrate the technology with its own products, allowing it to offer protection of both handsets and content.
“It is clear to us that Lumitrend has developed the best technology platform for data protection,” said Steve Pretre, general manager of Asurion Mobile Applications.
