Andrew picks up U.K.-based Precision Antennas

WESTCHESTER, Ill.—Andrew Corp. says it scooped up Precision Antennas Ltd., paying about $26 million for the subsidiary of U.K.-based aerospace and defense contractor Cobham plc that makes antenna systems primarily for cellular network backhaul.

Last year, Precision Antenna posted $46 million in sales. Andrew added that Precision Antenna’s 500 or so employees would become part of Andrew’s Antenna and Cable Products Group.

“Precision Antennas is a strong complement to Andrew’s existing portfolio of antenna systems and products,” said John DeSana, group president of Antenna and Cable Products at Andrew. “The addition of Precision strengthens Andrew’s market position in microwave antennas and enhances our ability to support the future needs of existing and new customers.”
