Warren, N.J.—Virgin Mobile USA L.L.C. introduced an unlimited night and weekend calling plan that allows users to place unlimited off-peak calls to three phone numbers of their choice.
The “Inner Circle” deal gives customers who sign up by April 30 unlimited night and weekend service to those three numbers—which can be landlines or mobile phones on any U.S. network—for 70 cents a day. Users can make up to two changes in their Inner Circle list of numbers each month; further changes cost $3 apiece. Some phone numbers are ineligible for Inner Circle status, including international numbers, voicemail, customer care, 411, 555 and 900 numbers. Calls to numbers outside the Inner Circle list are charged at 10 cents a minute.
“Our research has shown that teens tend to have three numbers that they call most often—for example, their parents, their best friends or maybe a boyfriend or girlfriend,” said Howard Handler, chief strategy and brand officer for Virgin Mobile USA. “Inner Circle is designed to fit that behavior while providing unlimited nights and weekends for those calls.”
Virgin Mobile USA also created a “Listen Line” that is expected to be live on nights and weekends in February and March at 888-876-LISTEN and will feature entertainment content such as “History by Dwayne” and “Hard Core Nursery Rhymes.”
