Ceregon to supply radios to Nokia

TEL AVIV, Israel-Wireless broadband systems provider Ceragon Networks Ltd. said it signed an original equipment manufacturer agreement with Nokia Corp.

Under the agreement, Ceragon will supply Nokia with its FibeAir microwave radio products, to be marketed as part of Nokia’s PowerHopper Vario portfolio of network solutions. Ceragon noted that the agreement represents several years of successfully integrating its high-capacity radio products into Nokia’s transmission solutions, and said that its FibeAir products answer the growing demand for 3G converged networks that provide data-rich applications and services requiring high-capacity backhaul solutions.

“Our product synergy with Ceragon’s radios allows Nokia to answer cellular service providers’ calls for a complete solution ranging from low to ultra-high capacity connections,” said Risto Valtonen, general manager of Cellular Transmission at Nokia Networks. “Ceragon has a market-leading position in the cellular backhauling network business. This agreement will enhance our full system capabilities by broadening our high capacity product offering to our system customers.”

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
