PLEASANTON, Calif.-FunMail Inc. announced a major new offering for the U.S. market that will allow mobile users to download daily newspaper comic strips, including Dilbert, Beetle Bailey, Dick Tracy, Herb and Jamal, and Rose Is Rose. FunMail said the service will launch Dec. 1 and will work on devices supporting xHTML Internet browsers and BREW and Java downloadable applications.
The service will cost $2 per month, and users can have the strips sent to their mobile phones. The strips will be sent daily, but will not be the same ones as in newspapers. They will instead be culled from each strip’s archives.
