HELSINKI, Finland-Spanish mobile operator Amena awarded Newtelco Services, which is 75-percent owned by L.M. Ericsson, a six-year contract to outsource the field services of its mobile network.
Under the agreement, Ericsson will handle preventive and corrective field maintenance of the GSM network. This includes network integration and configuration services related to the daily management of the network.
Soluziona owns 25 percent of Newtelco.
“We see a trend where operators hand over network operation activities to a trusted partner,” said Ingemar Naeve, head of Ericsson Spain.
