Record companies Def Jam Recordings and Elektra Records will team with two wireless companies to develop wireless marketing campaigns to promote various musicians. The first campaigns will center on recording artists Fabolous and Ja Rule and will include text promotions and music samples sent to interested users. The two record companies will team with IPSH, which offers wireless messaging technologies, and UrbanWorld Wireless, which manages a wireless community service. The program will essentially connect U.S. record labels with UrbanWorld Wireless subscribers using IPSH mobile marketing technologies.
