Regional operator C Spire signed a deal with NetCracker Technology to provide the operator with a BSS solution to consolidate its billing, customer account and service activation needs. Terms of the deal were not released.
NetCracker noted the deal will meld C Spire’s billing services into a single, converged solution, eliminating third-party components and supporting the launch of new products and services. The solution is also designed to support prepaid, postpaid and hybrid rate plans.
C Spire launched LTE services late last year to compliment its legacy CDMA offerings. The carrier followed up the launch with the rollout of shared data plans similar to what is offered by larger operators Verizon Wireless and AT&T Mobility.
Japan’s NEC purchased NetCracker last year, announcing plans to garner 10% global share of the OSS/BSS market.
