Motorola unveils wireless modem line for EMEA

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands-Motorola Inc. introduced a new line of wireless cable modem gateways known as SBG900 for broadband and consumers in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The company said the product line incorporates two models, which are the DOCS 2.0-certified SBG900i and the Euro-DOCSIS-compliant SBG900E.

Motorola highlights the features and functions as:

  • 802.11g wireless access point;
  • 10/100base-T Ethernet and USB ports;
  • Wireless security, including 64/128-bit WEP encryption;
  • Supports multiple users via routing/NAT features;
  • Network security features, including an advanced firewall.

“Designed with Motorola’s “connected home” vision in mind, the SBG900 family offers broadband operators a simple and cost-effective means to enable customers to wirelessly share a broadband connection between multiple computers and devices,” said the company.
