REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Openwave Systems Inc. announced Canadian carrier Bell Mobility is one of 20 wireless operators around the world that have signed up to use Openwave’s WAP version 2.0 gateway. Other operators include Cincinnati Bell, DNA Communications, Telefonica and Telstra.
Openwave said it has so far counted 40 billion WAP 2 transactions and more than 300 billion WAP 1 transactions, and that more than 70 operators currently use its WAP gateway products. WAP version 2 supports XHTML and a variety of more advanced browsing features.
