Building on a resale agreement announced earlier this year with AT&T Wireless Services Inc., AT&T Corp. launched its AT&T One program allowing customers to combine their wireline and wireless calling services and use unlimited night and weekend calling minutes from either offering.
AT&T said the plan will initially be available in the San Diego and Tampa, Fla., markets and will include local services where available, weekday daytime long-distance calling from home for 7 cents per minute and nationwide wireless long-distance calling with no roaming charges while on the AT&T Wireless network.
San Diego rate plans begin at $56 per month for 200 anytime wireless calling minutes and extend up to 1,100 anytime wireless calling minutes for $99 per month. Tampa area plans begin at $37 per month for 200 anytime wireless calling minutes and extend up to $80 per month for 1,100 anytime wireless calling minutes.
A number of AT&T competitors have introduced similar bundled offerings using their wireless divisions, including Verizon Communications Inc. with Verizon Wireless; SBC Communications Inc. and BellSouth Corp. with Cingular Wireless L.L.C.; and Sprint Corp. with Sprint PCS. However, AT&T noted no other company offers unlimited night and weekend calling minutes from either a wireline or wireless device.
