3 U.K. adds new NEC handset

LONDON-U.K. third-generation operator Hutchison 3G U.K. Ltd. has added a fourth handset to its phone line-up with a new NEC model. The operator, which offers service under the brand name 3, now offers one Motorola Inc. phone and three NEC Corp. handsets.

The handset is the first addition to its phone offerings since it launched the United Kingdom’s first 3G service in March.

The operator also announced it is selling its phones at Superdrug stores in the United Kingdom through 60 “stores within stores.” The retail rollout was completed in two months, 3 U.K. said.
