CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J.-The global commercial market for operational support systems software and services could grow 9.7 percent during the next five years, although that growth will likely not begin for at least another year, according to research from Probe Group.
“Sales cycles have increased dramatically because approval needs to be given by senior management, so the market can expect to see real improvement no earlier than mid-2004,” said Liz McPhillips, Probe’s OSS analyst.
The report considers major players in five segments of the OSS market, including billing, mediation, provisioning, network management, and service assurance and network monitoring, and forecasts revenues for each segment through 2007.
