Virgin partners with prepaid card companies

WARREN, N.J.-Virgin Mobile USA L.L.C. reported a partnership with four prepaid wireless phone card distributors, including CellCards, GTS Prepaid, PRE Solutions and InComm, which the mobile virtual network operator said would expand the reach of its Top-Up airtime replenishment cards to more than 25,000 individual retail locations.

“These four new distributor partners are well established and respected in this space and are going to help us ensure that we are exactly where our customers want us to be,” said Dan Schulman, chief executive officer of Virgin Mobile USA.

Virgin Mobile USA’s parent company Virgin Mobile also reported that its U.K.-based operations recorded more than $1.6 million in revenue per day during the first quarter of this year and forecasted more than $738 million in total revenue for the year. The operator added that its U.K. customer base now exceeds 2.6 million customers, and it expects to top the 3 million subscriber plateau this year.
