Sprint PCS to strengthen affiliate ties, but no renegotiating plans

NEW YORK-Sprint PCS is focused on strengthening its ties with its financially struggling affiliates while they struggle to overcome their debt loads, according to a recent Reuters report. However, Sprint PCS President Len Lauer said Sprint PCS has no plans to renegotiate agreements with the partners and has no interest in acquiring the affiliates.

“They need to get that debt restructured. It’s up to them to get that resolved,” Lauer told Reuters. “While that’s being done, we’re very focused on working and improving our operations support we give them and our relationship with them.”
