REDMOND, Wash.-Microsoft Corp. said it will change the name of its MapPoint .NET location service division to MapPoint Web Service.
The company said the change supports the company’s overall effort to clarify the naming and branding strategy around .NET. All Microsoft products will adopt the new branding convention for .NET to reflect the version number in the proper names of products, and include the use of “.NET Connected” branding.
