BELLEVUE, Wash.-Former T-Mobile USA Inc. chief executive officer John Stanton, who announced on Monday that Robert Dotson would replace him as CEO of T-Mobile USA, is considering a life in politics.
“I have clearly given it some serious thought, will continue to give it serious thought and will make a decision sometime later this year as to whether I’m going to explore new things and new activities in public life,” Stanton told the Seattle Times.
Stanton, who remains chairman of T-Mobile USA Inc. as well as chairman and CEO of Western Wireless Corp., has reportedly been approached by Washington State Republican Party chairman Chris Vance numerous times about running for governor.
