Amazon is taking tech support to a whole new level. The online retailer has launched live 24/7 video tech support for its brand new Kindle Fire HDX tablets. The help function connects you to a live representative that you can see and hear in real time. The rep can see whatever you see on the screen, but cannot see you.
In other news, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam told a group of investors this morning that the nation’s largest carrier does not plan to go back to unlimited data plans. Small cells are of course one way to ease the load on mobile networks. Today Ericsson introduced a new cellular radio that is smaller than a human hand. Ericsson’s Radio Dot System is meant for indoor use; it connects to indoor radio units via standard internet LAN cables.
