BURLINGTON, Mass.-Kada Systems plans to offer a mobile device integration design, code named Katahdin, that will allow mobile original device manufacturers (ODMs) to develop new devices using a configurable software “backplane” that custom components can be plugged into with little modification.
Texas Instruments has adopted Kada’s optimized and compliant reference implementation of the Java 2 Micro edition (J2ME) specification, a first step in its Katahdin design.
